Single Mom of 4 — Car Totaled After Accident.

Hi, I never imagined I’d be in a position to write something like this, but here I am.

On March 31st, I was on my way to my final workers’ compensation appointment — the one that was supposed to determine my permanent restrictions so I could finally return to work — when I was involved in a car accident.

I missed that appointment, and just like that, everything changed.

My vehicle has now been deemed a total loss. While the damage may not look severe, the cost to repair it properly is more than the car is worth. I’m incredibly thankful that my children were not with me, that everyone involved is okay, and that I walked away without serious physical injuries.

This has been especially difficult because I’ve already been navigating a tough season. I was injured at work in July 2025 and have been out of work on reduced pay since October — bringing home roughly $400 less per week. I had just gotten to the point where I could finally move forward and return to work… and then this happened.

Over the past 6+ months, I’ve fallen behind on several bills trying to stay afloat on reduced income. Just this Monday, I paid nearly $1,000 to catch my car note up — only to lose my vehicle the very next day.

I do not have rental reimbursement or GAP insurance, and I also do not qualify for food stamps or Medicaid to help cover unrelated medical care. I have underlying health conditions including anxiety (which resulted in me being transported by EMS after the accident), depression that has been worsening, fibromyalgia, and potential POTS and hEDS that I am still trying to manage.

I am now without transportation.

My children’s school does not provide bus transportation, and I have very limited options for getting them to and from school. Right now, I don’t have a reliable or consistent way to make that happen, which has added even more stress and urgency to this situation. They return from spring break next week.

I am a single mom of four children who recently returned to public school, and I am responsible for getting them to and from school each day, along with managing all of our daily responsibilities. Being on workers’ compensation has made it extremely difficult to get approved for a vehicle loan, especially without a co-signer.

I hate asking for help — truly. I’ve always done everything I can to figure things out on my own. But right now, I am in a position where I genuinely need it and can not find my way out alone.

This situation has affected me not just Physically and financially, but mentally and emotionally as well. I was just starting to feel like I was getting back on my feet, and this setback has been overwhelming.

To be fully transparent, I set my goal based on what I need to stabilize and move forward:

• $4,000 – Down payment toward a reliable vehicle (or cash car if I can find a reliable one)
• $1,000 – This month’s bills & immediate living expenses (mortgage, gas, groceries, insurance, internet for school, etc.)
• $2,000 – Medical and health-related expenses as I don’t currently have health insurance due to being out of work and not qualifying for Medicaid.
• $1,000 – Cushion for unexpected expenses during this transition

Total Goal: $8,000

If you feel led to help in any way — whether through a donation, sharing this, or even just praying for me and my children — I would be incredibly grateful.

Your support will go directly toward securing reliable transportation so I can continue caring for my kids and getting back to work as soon as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support, prayers, or kindness you can offer. It truly means more than I can put into words.
