A couple of months ago, my dear sister-in-law discovered a lump during a self-check.
It took quite a while to get a mammogram and ultra-sound scheduled. When the physicians did the scans, they found not one but two solid masses.
On Tuesday, Sept 6th, they took her in to remove the masses.
The biopsy came back positive for invasive ductal Carcinoma. She has been diagnosed with Stage two breast cancer. Thankfully it was found early thanks to proactive self-examination, but they did detect three different types of cancer.
Rachel is going in for surgery on the morning of 09/28/2022 to receive a double mastectomy.
She has a long road ahead of her, including five weeks of recovery time from surgery, and she will also be starting chemotherapy. She is a single mother to three beautiful girls and will need all the help that she can get.
In addition to all she is going through, she feels very stressed because she will be out of work for five weeks. Rachel is currently short on her bills for at least two months and will also need food and household supplies.
This fundraiser is to make up that difference.
She appreciates monetary donations, but please remember that there are so many ways that you can help. You can help by signing up on her meal train and assisting with rides, meals, and visiting. You can share, spread the word, or send love, light, and prayers.
Rachel and the family are grateful and humbled by the kindness and love that has been received by so many.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
With love and gratitude,
