Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, especially because I’ve always tried to handle everything on my own. But right now, I’m putting my pride aside for the sake of my children and hoping for compassion and support during one of the most difficult times in our lives. I am a single mother raising three children ages 15, 10, and 4 months old. Over the last several months, I’ve been doing everything I can to keep us afloat while actively searching for stable full-time employment that will allow me to properly provide for my family. Despite my efforts, I’ve fallen behind financially and am now facing the possibility of eviction. At the same time, I have also been struggling with postpartum depression after having my baby. Trying to navigate the emotional and mental toll that comes with postpartum while still being strong for my children has been incredibly overwhelming. Some days have been harder than I can even put into words, but I continue to push forward because my children depend on me.
My biggest fear right now is having to take my children, including my newborn baby, into a shelter because I cannot cover our rent and basic living expenses in time. I am hoping to raise enough to help cover rent, utilities, diapers, formula, groceries, transportation, and other essentials needed to keep my children safe, fed, and sheltered while I continue working toward getting back on my feet. I have reached out to multiple organizations and community resources for assistance, but due to the overwhelming number of families currently in need, many programs are out of funding or unable to help at this time.
If you are able to donate, no amount is too small and every single contribution will go directly toward keeping a roof over my children’s heads and making sure their needs are met. If you cannot donate, even sharing this fundraiser with others would mean more than you know. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, your prayers, and any support you may be able to give. Right now, even a little help could make a life-changing difference for me and my children.
