Hi, my name is Jaime, and I am a single mother doing my best to provide for my son. I don’t usually ask for help, but I am facing a difficult situation that I cannot get through alone.

Recently, I was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff which is the result of a domestic violence incident. The injury has caused constant pain, limited movement, and made it nearly impossible to work or take care of daily tasks. My doctor has confirmed that I need surgery as soon as possible to prevent long-term damage and regain the use of my arm.

Because of the physical demands of my job and the nature of the surgery, I will need time off to recover afterward. Unfortunately, I do not have paid medical leave, and I am already struggling to stay afloat financially. As a single mother, I receive no financial support from my son’s father, and I am solely responsible for rent, bills, groceries, and all of my son’s needs.

Between the cost of surgery, physical therapy, and lost wages during recovery, I am overwhelmed and afraid of falling behind on everything I’ve worked so hard to maintain for my family. That is why I am reaching out and asking for help.
