UPDATE 10/12/25:

Recovery has been so much harder than expected. I am still very weak and find even the smallest task exhausting. I am still on antibiotics for another week. If scans and labs still show infection present my doctors have discussed replacing the PICC line and continuing IV antibiotics outpatient.

Right now my storage unit is about to be auctioned on Tuesday (see update pic). The manager said if I pay the past due of $233 by then they will halt the auction. I have only recently returned to DoorDash to supplement my disability payments. My oldest daughter is looking for additional work as well. I assure all of you that I am trying my best to get out of this predicament. I am caught up with the hotel thankfully, so this storage unit is the main priority. If I lose that I lose everything I own.

If anyone could find it in their hearts to donate or share this campaign I’d be eternally grateful. I already feel like a terrible person for having my children in a hotel room. I don’t think I could live with myself if my illness is the cause of us losing it all.

Hi, I’m Meechi. I have created this GoFundMe to hopefully receive enough donations to pay for a hotel room for myself and my children (ages 21, 16, 11) while I’m in the hospital with mastoiditis. We have been staying in a hotel for some time now, and I usually DoorDash to supplement my disability and child support payments. I had an ear infection in early September and went to urgent care where I was prescribed antibiotics. I took all of my medication and had started to feel better, but the symptoms soon returned with a vengeance. I thought things would clear up, so I didn’t go back to the doctor. Plus, I needed to make money to pay for the hotel. Unfortunately, the pain and other symptoms only got worse, and I ended up in the ER on Sunday, 9/21/25.

I had a CT scan that confirmed mastoiditis. Mastoiditis is an infection of the mastoid bone of the skull, which is located behind the ear. It is often caused by a middle ear infection (which I had) that spreads. According to WebMD: “When the mastoid cells become infected or inflamed, often as a result of an unresolved middle ear infection (otitis media), mastoiditis can develop. Because so many vital structures pass through the mastoid, infection may spread outside of the mastoid bone and cause serious health complications. If left untreated, mastoiditis can cause serious, even life-threatening, health complications, including hearing loss, blood clot, meningitis, or a brain abscess. But with early and appropriate antibiotic treatment and drainage, these complications can usually be avoided and you can recover completely.”

Currently, I owe the hotel money and the manager has said we will have to leave if I don’t pay what I owe by 9/24/25. I have no family anywhere nearby to help. I am not from the state of Maryland, so essentially have no support system. I am a single mom with full custody of my two children that are under 18. My oldest daughter works, but she is only scheduled part-time at the moment. We honestly have nowhere else to go, and the thought of my children being thrown into the streets while I battle a serious health condition in the hospital upsets me to my core. My children deserve better. The funds I am requesting will go towards paying the hotel so I can focus on my health. I am receiving high-dose IV antibiotics, which may need to continue for several days. I survived extensive domestic violence and found the strength to leave and divorce my ex, with the hopes of someday having a little home for me and my children. That dream still exists for me, and I will not give up on making it a reality. Any donation will be one step closer to that. The pressing issue right now is, of course, the hotel room. Funds will primarily go towards that, with any extra amount towards other bills (phone, car insurance) and food.
