Single Mom in Crisis—Please Help Me Keep Going

Hi, my name is Sparkle, and I’m a single mother of two living in Chicago. I’ve always done my best to hold everything together—for my girls, for myself—but I’ve hit a point where I can’t do it alone anymore.

Life has been extremely difficult lately. I’m currently without a car, and that alone has made basic things like getting to work, daycare, and doctor appointments almost impossible. I’ve been relying on Ubers, buses, and trains, which are expensive and unreliable—especially with two kids.

On top of that, I’m behind on rent and bills. Everything is piling up, and I’m overwhelmed. I’ve tried everything I can think of. I’ve reached out to local resources, prayed, worked, sacrificed, and stretched myself to the edge. But it’s not enough right now, and I’m exhausted.

I’m asking for $3,500 to help me get back on my feet. This would go toward:

• A used car or down payment (to stop paying so much on rideshare and get reliable transportation)

• Past-due rent and utilities (to keep a safe home for my daughters)

• Basic necessities like food, supplies, and transportation
