Single Mom in Boca suffering from a stroke

Please help. My boys have a friend that goes to Boca High School and he's one of the sweetest kids I've ever met.  He's been to my house many times and has hung out with my 5 boys and has joined us for many family dinners.  His name is Jaime Valdez and I first met him some years back when he played on my son's baseball team at BRHS. Jaime is an only child living with his mother (a hard working single mom).  I'm not aware of any other local family they can lean on.  They live in an apartment near Boca High School.  I recently learned that his mother had a STROKE and has been in the hospital over a WEEK now.  He spent Christmas in the hospital with her. He's been living alone at home for over a week! I do not have any update when she will get out of the hospital. I am truly heartbroken for this boy and his mom.  I'm reaching out to my friends and my community to please consider helping a family right here in our own community that is struggling right now.  I can only imagine the impact this makes on them and would like to help them worry less about making their rent and bills.  Jaime must have so many worries in his head right now and I don't want him to feel alone.  I'm posting a goal of $5k with the hopes of easing any immediate financial burden, but my gosh I'd like to give them as much help as possible.  Jaime is not only a student in high school, but he plays on the baseball team and holds a job.  And he's truly a gentle soul - he's that kid that comes over and gives me a hug to say hello.  I know many people have spent a lot of money the past month on the holidays, but please consider giving - this is money well spent and will go far in helping Jaime maintain some sense of normalcy during this time of chaos.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who can give.  Need I say that any amount is appreciated?  Every bit will help. I'm trying to find out if there's anything else we can do to help him and I'll be sure to share if there is.  I'll do all I can to keep you all posted to the situation.
