Single mom fighting to give her 3 boys a home.

Hi, my name is Audrey, and I’m a single mom to three amazing boys. Right now, we’re facing a very difficult season, and I’m humbly asking for your help.

We are currently homeless. I’ve worked hard for over five years at a local laundromat—my boss is kind enough to let me bring my kids to work with me—but no matter how hard I try, I just can’t make ends meet. After leaving a shelter in East Austin due to overwhelming transportation costs, we’ve been living day to day—sometimes staying with friends, sometimes sleeping in our RV, and other nights just trying to make it through however we can.

We were recently offered an RV by a generous friend, but we still need help getting it placed on a proper lot with full hookups. Finding a stable place to live would give my boys the normal life they deserve—a home where they can rest, play, and be kids again.

In addition to a place to park our RV, we urgently need help getting another vehicle. About a month and a half ago, we were in a car accident that totaled our only transportation. The other driver didn’t have insurance, and now we’re left walking or taking Uber, which is incredibly expensive with three kids and nearly impossible to maintain.

One of my sons is autistic and needs regular doctor visits and therapy appointments that are incredibly hard to get to. Without reliable transportation, even getting to work or to basic necessities has become a huge struggle.

This isn’t easy for me to ask. I’ve always taken pride in doing everything I can to raise my boys the best I can on my own. I don’t receive child support. I work full time. I’ve applied for help, but because of a mistake I made over 20 years ago, I’ve been denied housing assistance and other programs—even though I’ve long turned my life around.

I’m not just asking for a handout—I’m willing to work for anything offered. I clean, I do laundry, I organize, I help with yard work—whatever I can do to give back. I just need a little help getting back on my feet and out of survival mode.

My boys are strong, smart, and kind. They’ve spent this whole summer sitting in a back room at my job instead of playing at the park or going to the pool. They deserve more than this. They deserve a safe home, a way to get to school and appointments, and a chance to just be kids.
