Single mom facing cancer for the third time

Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a hereditary cancer syndrome linked to the tumor suppressor gene TP53. There are a variety of core cancers seen with LFS, Breast Cancer being one of them. Katrina has been living with LFS, and has faced breast cancer twice.

On July 31, 2023 Katrina found out she has Invasive Melanoma and this marks number three.

On September 19, 2023 Katrina will have surgery to remove a portion of her foot and will have to undergo extensive recovery and immunotherapy treatment for at least the next year.

A self-employed riding instructor and boarder of horses, Katrina recently lost access to the barn she was using, finding herself without a space to teach in, thus losing her main source of income.

Now that she has been ordered off her foot for the indefinite future, finding new work heading into the winter will be extremely difficult.

For those of you who know Katrina, knows that she is a caretaker at heart. She goes the extra mile for everyone she loves (2 and 4 legged alike).

As a single-mom, she is accustomed to putting her needs last. She is often referred to as tough, resilient, courageous, strong…she is all those things and more, but she shouldn’t have to do it alone.

This time, she needs our help.

Please give what you can to help her get through these tough times. Not only does her family need help with affording food and bills, but the cost to travel back and forth from Maine to Boston for all of these appointments and procedures will add up quickly.
