Single Mom, Big Dreams — Help Me Stay Healthy to Keep Going
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a humble request for support during a transitional time for me and my family.
Recently, I was thrilled to accept a new opportunity as a Talent Acquisition Partner with CareSource. While I’m incredibly grateful for this role, it’s currently a temporary assignment through September, with hopes of it being extended or converting to full-time. As a temp, I don’t yet qualify for employer-sponsored health insurance.
After parting ways with my previous employer, I lost my health coverage. I’ve since enrolled in a Marketplace plan to maintain access to essential care, especially for managing my mental health. Unfortunately, the monthly premium for coverage based on my income and household size is $415 — a steep cost while I'm in between permanent roles.
As a single mom of twin girls (who are thankfully covered through Medicaid), my priority is staying healthy and present for them. I rely on several medications for anxiety, depression, and sleep. I’ve already run out of my sleep meds, and it’s taken a real toll on me. I’m doing my best to stay afloat, but right now, I could really use a little help to bridge the gap.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering my monthly premium and ensuring I can continue my treatment. Thank you so much for your support — whether through a donation, a share, or kind words of encouragement.
With gratitude,
Alisha
