This spring, the Pittsburgh Girls Choir (PGC) will be bringing the joy of song to senior living and youth facilities in our local community as part of our annual "Sing for Service" project. In the PGC, we learn that performance is service. Our mission is to bring the beauty of music to others. You can support this mission by donating to Sing for Service 2022!
Your donation will help support our choirs’ performances at various locations in the Pittsburgh region, including Canterbury Place, Friendship Village, Juniper Village, and the Children’s Institute. We are finally able to sing in person at these locations after many, many months of distance and gathering virtually. In addition, our choirs bring girls and women of all ages together from various schools in and around Pittsburgh, various backgrounds, and family circumstances. We are proud that no one is turned away because she is unable to pay tuition – thanks to your generosity.
One of the pieces we are learning is “Where the Light Begins” by Susan Labarr. As we sing the words “...we are where the light begins,” it seems especially fitting as we prepare to bring light through music to our community.
THANK YOU for making a gift to support the Pittsburgh Girls Choir. Any amount is welcome!
The Pittsburgh Girls Choir is committed to artistic excellence and performance through an exemplary music education program, and welcomes girls of all races, ethnicities and economic backgrounds into our supportive community.
