This is the fundraising site for breast cancer research and community programs in Milwaukee, organized by breast cancer survivors and Team Phoenix alumnae Evelyn Pollock and Teresa Drews. Evelyn and Teresa met each other in their freshman/sophomore year dormitory at Northwestern University's School of Music. Teresa pursued a degree in Piano Performance and Evelyn in Vocal Performance. After pursuing musical performing careers on the local, national, and international levels, they reconnected decades later when they discovered they both ended up in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, they also both ended up being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The musicians on the concert are all donating their services for the cause. They are all either breast cancer survivors themselves or have a close relative who is a survivor.

All proceeds from tonight's event will be split evenly between the Susan G. Komen organization and Team Phoenix.

What is Team Phoenix?

Team Phoenix is an innovative 14-week fitness and education program in which a leadership team of multidisciplinary clinicians, triathlon coaches and volunteers encourage and assist cancer survivors to regain health and wellness after cancer treatment by training for a sprint-distance triathlon. Joining our Team Phoenix group is the silver lining to a cancer diagnosis. We support you in building lifelong habits of fitness, healthy living, ongoing connections with health providers and camaraderie with other cancer survivors.

What is Susan G. Komen for the Cure?

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a global organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer on multiple fronts. It was founded in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor her sister, Susan Goodman Komen, who died of breast cancer. Komen's mission is to save lives by meeting critical needs in communities, investing in research, and advocating for change.
