Simon's LEJOG ride, The Megan Hurley Foundation
My name is Simon Clifton and please join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Megan Hurley Foundation, and any donation will help make an impact. Megan was a childhood friend of my daughter, and to pay a small tribute to Megan, her family and the Foundation, I am riding 989 miles and 55,000ft Elevation in 9 days from Lands End to John O'Groats, taking in England, Wales and Scotland starting on Saturday 4th and finishing on Sunday 12th September.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Megan Hurley Foundation: The Megan Hurley Foundation will aim to provide initial short-term help and support to self-employed families, unable to attend work (and therefore have no income), due to the sudden and unexpected loss of a child. The Megan Hurley Foundation may also provide help and support to other good cause that will benefit children. The Trustees will agree eligibility for those requiring help and support.
Megan Hurley was just 15 when along with 21 others her life was tragically taken away in the Manchester Arena bombing on 22nd May 2017.
Megan was a bright and caring young woman. Those who were privileged enough to know her remember a beautiful and loving girl with strong values and a love of family. She is deeply missed by all, and especially her parents Mike and Jo and her brother Brad (who was himself very seriously injured in the attack).
To pay tribute to their daughter, Mike and Jo have created the Meghan Hurley Foundation.

The Foundation's principle purpose is the provision of short-term financial aid to self-employed families who become unable to work through the sudden and unexpected loss of a child. The foundation may also provide help and support to other good causes the will benefit children.
As small business owners themselves, the Hurleys depended upon the kindness of the community to get by in the weeks and months that followed the Arena attack, and they are determined to help any others that unfortunate enough to be in a similar position.
Megan's Foundation is a small charity, with all administration done by Mick, Jo and Brad as volunteers. Every penny that is raised goes directly to providing help to those who need it the very most. They are extremely grateful for each and every donation they receive.
