No words can begin to describe the grief we’re all feeling after losing Simon far too soon.

Simon was a loved son and brother, a deeply loved friend, a raver, a snowboarder, an exceptional coworker, a leader, and, to so many people, an absolute legend.

If you knew Simon, you knew he was obsessed with funny memes, a total Burton snob when it came to his snowboarding gear, a tech genius, and he somehow always had a collection of facts in that brain of his that meant he could beat you in any intelligent debate. He was a weapon at GeoGuessr, an exceptional bartender and, above all, incredibly funny.

But Simon’s love for people showed up in the little things.

He remembered the small details about you. He noticed the things you liked. And he showed his love by showing up for you with those things when you least expected it.

There are no easy words for a loss like this, and there is no way to make this time easier besides being together.

So many people have reached out with their condolences, their love, and their offers to help. We have been incredibly touched by every message, every memory shared, and every offer of support. In a situation like this, it can be difficult to know what kind of help to ask for, but every gesture has meant more than we can put into words.

We have created this GoFundMe to help our family with the costs of Simon’s cremation, celebration of life and any other unexpected costs likely to come up. This will help allow us to say goodbye to him in a way that honours the person he was and the enormous impact he had on all of our lives.
