From Simon's sister Annie:

"Hi, my brother Simon was in a bad car accident on June 23rd and endured major traumatic injuries, including diffuse brain damage. He was rushed to the hospital and had an emergency craniotomy done which saved his life. Simon’s stable now after getting a tracheostomy and surgery on his ankle. He has made various improvements since then. Now he is able to hear his family members and give a thumbs up in response! It will be a long recovery with physical, speech and occupational therapy. We are planning to have him go through a Neuro-Rehabilitation program as well. Any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Simon just recently graduated from high school and chose to come attend UCSD with me.

While still in high school, he embraced his ambitious and creative nature to start business projects. He is passionate about building up his business and loves being involved with the balisong community. He enjoys being able to help provide his friends with innovative, higher quality, and more accessible products. I’m sure he is very eager to get better soon so he can get back to creating and start his first year of college!"
