Simon Rayner
This page has been set up on behalf of Simon's family, to allow donations to be made in his memory to Stoke Samaritans. The death of Simon, a dear friend and inspirational volunteer is a great loss to the Stoke branch, to Samaritans in general and of course to his family and friends.
Simon was the consummate Samaritans volunteer. To say that he carried out 220 listening shifts in the last 12 months does not even begin to tell the story. He was kind, supportive, conscientious and quietly inspirational.
He joined this branch in 2000 and held the posts of Branch Director, Treasurer, Deputy Director and Branch Prison Support Officer. But he has also served the branch as a Leader, Mentor and importantly, as a friend to volunteers both new and old. Additionally, he also volunteered at the Leek Branch of Samaritans.
Simon will be remembered and sadly missed by all in the Stoke branch.
Your donations will help to fund the operational costs of the Stoke Branch, enabling them to continue to respond to those in emotional distress.
