Simon Land - a wonderful son, brother and dad

Hi, my name is Sam and I am fundraising to help my parents with the cost of the funeral for their oldest son, Simon. I am the youngest of four siblings.

On 23rd May 2025, the lives of my family were changed forever when we were told the news that Simon had passed - it is unfortunately a day I will never forget, I was at work and I had some incredibly brave and compassionate colleagues with me, who told me the difficult news whilst my heart broke.

For those who never knew Simon, he was a magnificently wonderful human, full of genuine love and kindness and his family was everything to him. He was committed and extremely hard working, his trade being accountancy.

Simon was a father to three beautiful children who has left their life far too soon and my parents have had to face a day that no parent should and say goodbye to their son.

Simon was a leader and example to his brothers, James and I along with his sister, Jess.

Both my parents have retired now and to aid them in the funeral costs I have set up this page.

Simon was a keen outdoorsman, cycling from London to Paris to raise money for diabetes UK and completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks - it seems only right that I do something outdoors to honour his memory, so...

On Monday 25th August 2026 I (along with any willing participants) will walk 26 miles along the North Norfolk Coast to help raise money towards the cost of the funeral, starting at Cromer and finishing at Holkham Hall.

I find it difficult to ask for help from those who have already given so much and unfortunately I am yet to win the lottery, so in order to make a reasonable dent in the cost, I have decided to fundraise.

If anyone is able to donate anything to go towards the funeral, however big or small, to say I'll be eternally grateful doesn't do it justice.
