Hi Im Debbie,

This is not something Ive ever had to do before so bare with me..

Yesterday one of my oldest and dearest friends passed away at the age of 43, he was the salt of the earth, the kind of man who lit up any room with his infectious humour and warm personality. He was the first on the dance floor even though he had zero rhythm and missed every beat, he didnt care, he loved life and it showed to those lucky enough to be in his presence. He was the kind of friend who turned up to check in and make you laugh even on the darkest days.

He was admitted to ane Monday the 4th May and rapidly went down hill. He went in with pancreatitis, something he was diagnosed with a few years back, it isnt curable but he went in to hospital last time and made some lifestyles choices, he went to the gym and worked on his health. Unfortunately it flared up again Monday, his organs started failing and he was put into an induced coma, he never woke up.

He leaves behind his soul mate and two children. As a group we are beyond devastated but are doing everything we can for Chelsea, Emily and Jacob. In terms of emotional support we have her covered however, there is a financial stress when losing a spouse, Chelsea started a new job not long ago and is not entitled to sick pay, Si was self employed and like most of us he didnt, think he would need life insurance yet, then after his diagnosis it was tricky to get cover therefore, Chelsea has the turmoil of trying to think how she is going to cover the mortgage and bills to her family home, take time off work to be there for their children and help them navigate the tremendous grief they are feeling.

Theres also a funeral to prepare and we want to give him the send off he deserves.

I know people cant afford much with the current climate but any amount big or small would make a massive difference.
