In Memory Of Simon Hartnell
In June 2025, I will be pulling up my wetsuit before tackling the Challenge Wales 70.3 event. I will be dedicating my participation in the event to the memory of a dear family friend, Simon Hartnell who left us too early at the age of 55 due to a sudden heart attack in 2022. Simon was an extraordinary gentleman—kind-hearted, generous, and very down to earth. His passing left a profound impact on all who knew him.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the UK's leading charity dedicated to funding research and support for heart and circulatory diseases. It raises awareness, educates the public on heart health, and provides vital support for patients and their families. I have chosen to support BHF because of its impactful research, community presence, and commitment to saving lives.
Taking part in a half ironman, is a challenge dissimilar to anything I have completed previously, but with my training I am very determined to cross the finish line. As we nearer closer to the event, I know that all these training efforts will contribute to this important cause.
This journey is more than just reaching the finish line; it's about shining a light on a meaningful cause that celebrates Simon's legacy and works towards preventing future heartbreak.
With your support, we will aim to beat heart disease for good.
