Donations for Simon

Hello,

Sadly we lost Sy to cancer on Monday 1st July. He leaves a big hole in our and many other people's lives and we are so upset he has gone. He was a loving father, brother, son and friend of many. His energetic, kind, fun-loving character and great sense of humour will be missed by us all. We were hoping to have many more years in his company and it is a total shock to have lost him so soon.

As you might know, Sy struggled with his finances and he has had some very difficult times due to lifestyle choices he was incapable of changing. He has been helped by many along the way which we know hasn't always been easy for his friends and family and we thank you so much for your love, support and forgiveness. We know Simon loved you all very much. For all the difficult times, Simon also knew how to have fun, perhaps a little too much sometimes, but now his life has now been cruelly taken away so young, aged 44, we can at least find some solace in that.

He was a hard worker and firecracker of energy to have around - well loved for his humour and energy in the restaurants he worked in - whizzing around the kitchens, meticulous to detail and hygiene, caring about his employees and teams, and working hard to ensure great food was delivered on time. The cheffing industry is notoriously hard with unsociable hours and it feels like he did a lifetime of work during his short life. It's sad we won't get to cook with him again at home, he was such good fun to have around and knew all the insider tips to make a brilliant meal.

The funeral costs have taken us by surprise and we are currently unable to cover this. We would be grateful for any contributions whatsoever towards giving Sy the send off we so want him to have, surrounded by friends and family in Cheltenham. So this is the final ask from Sy and if you are able to donate anything we would be very grateful.
