Simer and Asees fundraiser for Gurmat School
Donation protected
Simer and Asees are raising $15,000 for their Gurmat/Khalsa School Building. The overall goal is $250,000 towards down payment and improvements.
Over the last several years, they along with 40 other kids, have learned Punjabi, Gurmukhi, Virsa, Gurbani, Keertan, Tabla, Gatka and much more in the school. Even more, four years back, we added a leadership class for the youth. Students have been fortunate to learn/apply leadership skills towards the community service projects with an intent of universal betterment (Sarbhat Daa Bhalaa).
Kids have also learned how to read Gurbani and youth do their own Sehaj Paath as a result. Few students have already graduated from the school and are in reputed state colleges pursuing professional degrees in medical, engineering, etc. While building their careers, the seed of sewa keeps sprouting and we often see them volunteering in summer camps, doing Keertan/Tabla sewa in Samagams and generally active in outreach efforts.
Gurmat School families are coming together and buying a building to continue to create a strong foundation for generations to come. We also hope to convert that building to a Gurdwara with a strong focus on kids driven Deewans, education, community service projects and developing well-rounded leaders for tomorrow.
Please support Charlotte Sikhs in strengthening their Gurmat School. Our goal is to raise $15,000 through this platform with an overall goal to reach $250,000 between all families, who are also part of this sewa.
