Hello! My name is Bryan I work at a private practice animal hospital and I recently moved on up to veterinarian assistant.. anyone who knows me knows I love animals in general and really love dogs(cats are cool too). And my dogs are my whole world.
I'm starting this for my 12 going on 13 dog Simba. Gonna try to keep this short so, a few weeks ago he started walking funny as well as slowing down, struggling to get up, or yelping in pain when getting up, leg would sometimes wobble when he got excited. And x-rays revealed he has hip dysplasia. Both hips look pretty bad, pretty bad arthritis on his spine as well and somehow got a ACL tear on his back left leg. There wasn't an accident or incident I can point too, it just happened all of the sudden.
A Tplo surgery is recommend or else the arthritis on that leg will progress much faster, making it more painful and Of Course putting his other leg and paws at risk because of him compensating for it.
Then there is the hips I have to worry about down the line. That's another expensive surgery.
Can't do both at the same time but this tplo surgery would be a.major first step for his treatment. It's expensive, it's $3800. I'm saving up and gathering as much as I can but I need help. I got my own financial contrants and credit card dents. Times are tough for my dad too.
He is such a sweet dog, always barking up a storm and hollering so loud when I get home that he even lets my neighbors know I'm home lol and always greets people with a wagging tail and a smile.
It sucks all this happened. Me and my family just went through a Tplo surgery with my other dog Yuki, in the summer.
Only positive thing is he walks okay on meds for now but I have no idea how he is gonna be a month or two from now. Nor do I want the other ACL on his other leg to tear.
Please, I know times are tough for everyone but If you can spare even a little it would mean a lot to me and my family, and especially Simba. It sucks when our dogs get older But i don't want his remaining years to be awful. I want to improve his quality life as much as possible.

Thank you! I hope all is well and I wish the same for you and your loved ones.
