Simba's Lifesaving Surgery Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Rylee. My boyfriend Ross and I have a 9-month-old Lynx Point kitty named Simba (on the left). We brought Simba to a cardiologist for his grade 5/6 heart murmur.

We found out that he has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). What this means is he has a congenital heart defect where a fetal blood vessel connection remained open during birth. This causes improper blood flow between the aorta and the pulmonary artery.

This could cause fluid overload in the heart, which will shorten his lifespan and develop heart failure. The cardiologist told us within the next year he will develop congestive heart failure and he would not live long after that occurs.

The good news is that this can be treated and is one of the only types of congenital heart diseases that can be treated. Surgery would be the obvious goal and was quoted for 7-9 thousand dollars.

Simba has been with us for a short 8 months and he has truly been a wonderful kitty. He loves to play with his sister (Squishy), he loves to cuddle on our chests, sleep above our heads, and he also loves to find snacks we may have left behind. If we were able to get him this surgery, not only would he live a completely normal and healthy life, but he would be able to do the things he loves.

What we are looking for is help financially. Whether that is directly, or from referring this to other people that could help.
