Update, Simba has a gall bladder issue that has to be addressed. Enzymes are high. Normal count is 12 he’s 47. Must explain the throwing up and runs. He will need tests. Money for MRI isn’t touched as he is getting his referral as we speak done. Since GoFundMe me took out fees I don’t have all this says. It’s about 4200 or so I have or less. Ever have a dog that brings sunshine and happiness to you every day. Ever ask yourself how lucky you are to have such a sweet loving pet? Ever rescue a dog from a shelter ad want to give them the best life they deserve? Ever think that you didn’t rescue the dog, the dog rescued you? That’s Simba. He is the sunshine of our lives. He is loved-beyond the the words loved.
I know it’s a bad time of year and I hate asking for help. However, Christmas night, I freaked out when I saw Simba having a seizure, it frightened me as I never seen him have one before. I took him to the vet the next day and his vet said most likely he has a brain tumor. He is neurologically off a bit, almost completely blind and now is on phenobarbital and prednisone for life. He lost a couple pounds as well. He goes back to the vet in 30 days to get his phenobarbital levels checked. As of now he’s on 60mg 2x day. It takes about 30 days to take effect. So he’s under close watch. Walks are shorter and try not to excite him much. He is slower moving and no longer gets excited for his daily walks. He’s an older dog. He’s a companion to my father who is battling pancreatic cancer and PTSD. They are best friends. I want to raise funds to get an mri to see if he has cancer, and if it’s benign or Aggressive, to see Simba’s quality of life. My dog is my fathers and mine world. He is a happy dog full of life. I rescued him from Philadelphia Animal care and control almost 9 years ago. He had a hard life before us, as his owners surrendered him in horrific condition. He deserves to live his life in dignity and with no suffering like he did in his early life before going to the shelter. He is a big part of our family. He keeps us all going.
