With heavy hearts, we share the devastating loss of our friend, Simardeep Singh. He was the single child of his parents—a kind and loving person who touched the lives of everyone he met.
He came to Winnipeg, Canada as a student in December 2023. His goal was to support his family back home in India. He worked extremely hard throughout his student life, taking on different jobs while dealing with financial struggles. Despite many difficulties here and back home, he completed his studies and received his work permit. He also applied for permanent residency, and everything seemed to be going well.
Unfortunately, he later lost his job and was unable to find another one for several weeks, increasing his financial burden as the only earning member of his family. At the same time, his father needed major surgery, adding more stress.
His work permit expired on March 18, 2026 and despite trying his best, he struggled to manage his expenses. Unable to bear the overwhelming stress he tragically suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away.
We are raising funds to send his body back to India and support his family through this difficult time. He was the only hope for his parents. We cannot share the loss of their only son but we hope to provide some financial aid to repay their debts to continue their life. Any contribution, no matter how small, will mean a lot. If you’re unable to donate, please share this message and keep his family in your prayers.
Rest in peace, Simardeep Singh. You will never be forgotten.
