Silvia Andrade

Dear Friends,

I write to you today to seek help for Maria and Juan Carrillo, who are mourning the loss of their daughter, Silvia Andrade, who passed last week. Many of you who know our family, will remember Maria as our children's second "mama." She truly helped Russell and me raise Tony and Anina and became family. When Juan and her two daughters, Silvia and Evelyn, were finally able to join her and immigrate from El Salvador, the family was finally whole again. Now, along with brother David, they are grieving for Silvia. She was a nurse and an incredible caregiver, always putting others ahead of herself. When her cancer of nine years ago returned this summer, she was unfortunately not able to overcome it. She leaves behind her two sons who are just off to college and finishing high school. Nobody expects to have to bury one of their children - they are not meant to go before we do. On top of their loss, the family was not prepared for the extremely high cost for a cemetery plot and the funeral and burial costs. I have never posted a request like this before, but so many have asked if there is anything they can do for the family. Making a donation to help offset these costs will help tremendously as it will preserve what Maria and Juan have been saving for their retirement. I know they will be incredibly grateful for any donation.
