The Sigma Chi - Michael Silvestri Volleyball Memorial
Hello everyone,
As many of you know, our beloved friend and brother, Michael Silvestri, passed away suddenly in a car accident on May 13, 2013. Michael taught us what it means to be generous, brave, and loyal. He was a true brother, and one of the most congenial people you could ever meet. Michael loved to be in the company of others and always used fun as his outlet to cultivate a sense of community among friends and strangers alike. He often times did so by organzing pick up volleyball games at the Sigma Chi house. Because volleyball was such a passionate part of Michael's life, the Mid Cities Alumni Chapter and the Theta Kappa Chapter of The Sigma Chi Fraternity at UT-Arlington are partnering together to help renovate the sand volleyball pit at the Theta Kappa Chapter house in honor of Mike and all he contributed to the chapter in his time at UTA. As everyone who knew him knows, there is no better way to honor the amazing life he lived, and to allow his legacy to live on for generations to come.
After speaking with a contractor for the job, our projected goal is $5,000. This will cover the cost of installing a proper water draingage system, a new foundation for the court, new sand, new poles, a new volleyball net, and, of course, a plaque in honor of Mike.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and we thank you for stopping by the page.
On behalf of all Sigma Chi brothers
