Hi, my name is Derek Anding. I am fundraising for Silver Springs Counseling and Wellness. Maquel is a mental health counselor located in Washington, Iowa. She has served this community for the past 8 years. She has worked with clients of all ages but is most passionate about her work with children and adolescents. In September 2022, she opened the doors to her own private practice called Silver Springs Counseling and Wellness. Sadly, in November, her office and the building she was located in had a major fire. Maquel’s entire office sustained significant damage resulting from the fire. She is now without an office space and materials/supplies used for therapy sessions.

Since the fire, Maquel has been able to manage seeing some of her clients via telehealth or by seeing them in the local schools. However, most of her supplies needed for therapy, especially Play Therapy, have been destroyed or damaged. Donations will go directly to helping Maquel and Silver Springs Counseling and Wellness to get back to seeing and helping her clients fully. The amazing donations will help fund her purchase of new play therapy toys and games, art therapy items, and sand tray therapy items. These donations will help Maquel continue to have a positive impact on the community and the lives of her current and future clients. Any donation would be greatly appreciated!
