Silver Oak High School Senior Sendoff

We are raising money to provide a meaningful and personal gift to each student in the senior class of 2021 at Silver Oak High School. We want the items to represent the school, as well as something tailored to fit interests and inspire future plans of the student. Normally we are able to create these memories for our seniors in the form of events and trips, however given the limitations of this year, we must get creative in this endeavor, and thought a personalized tote bag full of goodies delivered by faculty members would be the best and safest possible way.

The class of 2021 never envisioned their senior year to take place online. We have worked so hard to connect with them and continue to make our community feel whole. We want to do something for them that is tangible, thoughtful and something they can take with them to remember their teachers and faculty.

Our plan is for the tote bags to be filled with items valuing a total of $100 minimum per student. This will include personalized merchandise, such as Silver Oak sweatshirt and lawn sign. In addition, some of our generous faculty members have volunteered to create something for each student, and need help in supplementing the budget for those supplies. We are lucky to have a smaller community where we think the goal of tailoring each tote bag is attainable and will make these gifts extra special. We will be doing this by surveying the students individually.

What a hard year this has been, for students, teachers and the community at large. Our community has been hit so hard by COVID19, and in addition, our students were robbed of their high school senior year experience. The morale and motivation of our seniors is low, but they have persevered to stay on top of their work in order to graduate on time. Some also have the added adult responsibilities of caring for younger siblings as well as sick or struggling family members. These gifts are the absolute least we can do to make students feel seen,  supported and less forgotten by their school community that cares so deeply for them.

We would truly appreciate any donations and support for our wonderful senior students. It has been inspiring to see our community come together and persevere through this crisis, which happened faster and lasted longer than anyone could have possibly anticipated.

Please consider donating if you can, even the smallest amount helps. To get the word out, you can share the link on social media or with your friends, family or a business organization!
