Hi there! Thank you so much for checking out my fundraiser to afford gender-affirming surgery.

For those of you here from Transanta, thank you so much for taking the time to hear about my story and for helping me with achieve this goal. I appreciate you more than words can say. For a little bit more context on this fundraiser setup, I've had plans to start a little YouTube channel to help raise money for surgery as well. It's been taking a bit longer than I'd hoped, so as you're seeing this, that channel may or may not be up and running. I'll try to remember to update the description here as well if I do start that up!

For anyone else who's unfamiliar with my story and curious, I want to provide a bit more information about how I got here.

Over the past several years, my mom has been the sole provider for my family. Now, under the current administration, her job as a federal employee is at risk and, at this point, we expect that she will not be able to keep it for much longer. We've had to make some changes to ensure that we'll all be alright if that happens, and making the choice to use my surgery savings to pay for living expenses and helping to support my family was a no-brainer. I love them so much and their wellbeing is always going to be my top priority.

However, it was also a devastating decision to make. I've been saving for gender-affirming surgery for nearly 7 years now. I'd hoped I would be able to afford surgery by the time I was 18. Now, I'm almost 20 and feel like I'm further from reaching that goal than ever before.

Getting gender-affirming surgery would be life-changing and create a permanent improvement for my mental health and my quality of life. Any support, whether through contributing to this fundraiser, or just sharing it with others to help get the word out, would absolutely mean the world to me.
