Hi, I’m Silas (he/they) and I’m a white trans-masc filmmaker living in NYC. I’m seeking financial assistance with funding my top surgery that I have scheduled in March. 

I don’t have emotional/financial support from my family due to my transition. But I’m so thankful for the support I do have from the queer friends and family that I’ve made since starting my transition and moving to NYC. They’re the reason it’s even been possible for me to make it this far in trying to achieve this dream. 

This is is something that I didn’t think was possible for so long and is a step that I need dearly to improve my quality of life. In addition to that, I have a connective tissue disorder that has resulted in multiple lung surgeries where half of my left lung had to be removed several years ago. While my health has been better since my last surgery, after binding consistently for 3+ years my PCP is concerned about the long term effects of the binding on my lungs.
