Help Us Bring Dr. Sikolastika Makasinga Home to Zimbabwe
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sikolastika Makasinga, a beloved daughter, niece, friend and colleague at the age of 62.
Dr. Sikolastika devoted her life to medicine, serving her community with compassion, kindness, and tireless commitment. She never married or had children of her own—her patients and her work were her true family.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contracted the virus and bravely fought through it. Sadly, she developed long COVID, which left her unable to work for almost two years. Struggling with illness, financial hardship, and depression, she passed away alone in her home. The exact date of her passing remains unknown—a heartbreaking reality for those who loved her.
Her passing has left her family devastated, especially her 94-year-old father, whose only wish is to see his daughter laid to rest with dignity in her homeland, Zimbabwe.
We, her family and friends, are coming together to raise funds to repatriate Dr. Sikolastika’s body to Zimbabwe, where she can be given the farewell she deserves, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
This campaign has been created by her niece, Tafadzwa Jaboon, and friend Samantha Manyanga and is the only official fundraiser for Dr. Sikolastika Makasinga. Please do not contribute to any other pages claiming to support this cause.
Your generosity—no matter the amount—will help us honor Sikolastika’s memory and grant her the dignity of a proper farewell in her homeland.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, kindness, and support during this painful time.
