We were blessed with a wonderful father who loved us endlessly. We are so heartbroken by this recent passing but he lived a beautiful and joyous life. Hardly would you ever see him sad or stressed. He was the king of enjoyment and peace.
Our most cherished memories of him will always be his contagious laugh and his obnoxious jokes. Just picture this: who changes right out of their clothes or shoes just to where the new items right inside the store? Mr. Cash! And if he didn’t, he would make sure to wear it the next day. On most weekends, he would drive us to Yonkers to watch a movie and go shopping. We would intentionally select the most expensive items just to see his reaction. We couldn’t hold our laughter. When we would laugh and tease him, he would always say we’re boring and dull; life is too short for us to keep saving our nice things for special occasions, he’d say.
Our father did not need much at all. Give him some fufu or alcohol or just good company, Daddy Lumba would be grateful.
We would never forget him attending our middle school Talent Show. He’d always encouraged us to be bold and fearless no matter the environment. Memories like these will forever live in our hearts.
He was our cheerleader.
For as long as we can remember, our father never said goodbye to us. He would always say “I will see you when I see you.” To him, goodbyes seemed too final. So, daddy, we will see you, when we see you. We love you so much! Rest easy now. Rest in Peace.
