It all started when Ivy met Annie's friend Sieun @sanha9204 at the vet. Sieun recommended a vet to Ivy for the 3 kittens she had rescued off the street near her house. They randomly ran into each other at this vet on December 20, 2019 and Ivy found Sieun crying. Ivy asked her what's wrong and she mentioned about a dogmeat farm in Siheung she found with Park from CARE.
They witnessed approximately 80 dogs caged in filth with their own feces. She said no one was willing to help and Park had no money or space at their shelter as they already have 600 dogs that are either not adoptable or waiting to be adopted. They barely have enough funds to cover for kibble for their shelter dogs. Sieun begged Ivy to at least repost her Instagram post, asking Korean citizens to contact Siheung city officials to help these dogs.
Knowing clearly that a single repost could change Ivy’s life and bring on responsibility for these dogs, she took a chance as Sieun had helped Ivy with her 3 orphaned kittens. Soon after Ivy reposted, a previous donor from Hanam and Yangsan dog rescues commented that she was willing to help these dogs and wanted Ivy to move forward with this rescue. With Ivy’s big move back to the U.S. coming up in a few months, she was reluctant, but she couldn't stop seeing the dog's desperate pleas from the video Sieun showed her.
Ivy called Annie to help her to do this one last rescue before she move back to the U.S. Sieun happened to mention about this rescue to Annie and we had a brief discussion regarding this rescue during her trip to Los Angeles. With Annie’s wedding coming up in March, there was no way she had the time or energy to help with this rescue. With holiday season around the corner, I didn’t want to stress myself out with coordinating for fundraising. We both felt terrible but at the end of the day, we all had our personal lives.
Ivy felt terrible asking Annie for help knowing her wedding is in March and she was also moving end of this week. Annie was of course reluctant and said no. Her brain was about to explode. She then called Ivy the very next day and told Ivy she had nightmares about the Siheung dogs and had woken up screaming. Her heart wouldn't allow her to forget their pleading eyes for help. She agreed to do this rescue with Ivy. They dove headfirst, but now they’re both drowning.
Ivy decided to contact me couple days ago regarding this rescue. I was hesitant to read her messages sent via KakaoTalk. Ugh!!!!! I fell for it again. I just couldn’t help thinking about the dogs being caged up living in fear. So here we are again asking for your help! This will be the second fundraising hosted by us to help cover medical expenses for 65 dogs and 15 goats.

We believe in transparency of all donations received. All donations and expenses will be managed by Annie and Ivy. Just like the previous fundraising we did for Yansang, we will post receipts and invoices on our site. Your funds will be used to cover for medical expenses only. This will be the last rescue for Ivy before she moves back to the states. Thank you in advanced for helping us save previous lives.
