Sigrid’s healing sanctuary support

Welcome to Sigrid’s healing sanctuary fund, a timely gift for her 60th birthday!
As some of you may be aware it has been somewhat  of a rough time for Sigrid and family with the loss of our brother Antoni last year to suicide, the grief is still rippling over us a year on but we are moving forward together in his honour. 

Sigrid, our mother, carer, healer and friend has mourned for her dear son with great bravery and composure yet it has not been an easy time to say the least.

Throughout the healing process she has maintained the principle of honouring her son’s life and over time has developed a dream to create a healing space at her home to help others deal with such traumas that need special care and extra time, time away from the hectic pace of modern life where we can process our thoughts and emotions to move forward.

The space she wishes to create is not a distant dream, it is almost there, but with a little help from us we could really move things along. The house is a beautiful cottage with classic charm and lots of character, yet some of its features are in need of attention especially in areas for guests to stay, the walls and roof of one end of the house have succumbed to mould and rot from white ants and decades of long wet winters so this is where we wish to help with some extra funds. 

Sigrid has already purchased a lot of materials that she has tracked down online to suit the space and keep with her elegant yet quirky theme and has even made attempts at the renovations herself but the bulk of the tasks admittedly are too much to take on without expertise. A builder will be required to help knock out the existing walls and ceiling and install new fixtures in the bathroom, new window frames and other structural beams that need replacing.

Once completed, the space will be intended to host guests and their needs:

- People looking for shelter and direction in dealing with grief  
- Underprivileged people’s/disadvantaged youth
- Domestic violence survivors
- Marginalised groups
- Global community members the door will be open..

And be a meeting place to facilitate:

- Art Therapy practice
- Group Workshops 
- Alternative lifestyle strategies 
- Music, Art & Dance jams
- Learn about Food, garden to plate
- Community intervention 
- Retreats

Sigrid has recently completed a Community Service diploma this year, is a qualified Art Therapist and is an extremely talented artist, cook and superwoman!

We envision all these skills combined, as well as the property’s magical spring water and wandering abundant gardens contributing to the call..

The potential for more community focused facilities opening up to the public is TRUE and VIABLE in the current climate that is felt on a personal level and across the world.
