I’m Brian James, an Indigenous artist, blockchain developer, and founder of two bold ventures rising from collapse.
WHO I AM
- I’m Yankton and Rosebud on my father’s side, Aztec and Dutch on my mother’s.
- I’m 38 years old, a father, a builder, a storyteller, a survivor.
- I built a career in electromechanical engineering, and then my body gave out.
- A scalene muscle dislocated, pressed into my brachial plexus, and took away my ability to lift, drive, or even sit at a desk without pain or loss of feeling.
- I’ve had no income since March 31, 2025.
WHAT I’M BUILDING
Even while disabled, broke, and isolated, I’m building the next generation of Native-led tech and art:
Nightcoder Designs
A textile & digital art brand rooted in Native truth. I’m designing culturally authentic fabrics, patterns, and prints that tell real stories, and just landed a major contract to create a fabric line distributed through quilt shops nationwide.
Nightcoder Labs LLC
A Web3 R&D studio creating smart contracts, AI tools, and a platform called Solythra, a cross-chain social storytelling system powered by dynamic NFTs, identity tokens, and community quests. It’s nearly ready to launch.
WHY I NEED BACKING
I’ve applied for grants. I’ve begged for aid. But the systems that promise help rarely deliver it when you’re the exception to their algorithm.
- My rent is two months overdue.
- My vehicle is about to be repossessed.
- I’ve sold what I can. Canceled what I can.
- And I’m still here, still building.
This isn’t for investors looking to exploit Native identity for clout.
This isn’t for the tech bros who ghost when the code gets hard.
This is for the builders, the believers, and the ones who know the cracks because they live in them too.
This campaign isn’t charity. It’s fuel for finishing what I started.
