Sigma Chi Theta Gamma Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Charlie Galloway and I am the current Consul and Tribune for the Sigma Chi fraternity at Drake University.

I've created this fundraiser so our chapter can raise money to put toward recruitment efforts and chapter house needs. Our chapter currently has 13 active members. The main goal of or fundraising efforts is to maintain our steady recuitment efforts and a nice chapter facility.

Recruitment is our number one focus this year as we begin the Fall 2024 Semester. This year, we have gone above and beyond in terms of recruitment efforts. We've had guys sign up for move-in crew, we have guys getting involved in multiple clubs and orgs across campus, and we're putting in the work to bring our Chapter back to the top of Drake University.

In my most recent letter, I highlighted our recruitment budget, and what we're looking to use alumni funds on. All donations will be put forth into recruitment efforts, activities, and chapter house upgrades which will be utilized for recruitment.

Besides our recruitment budget, we also have a handful of household items / ideas that we're looking into for recruitment purposes as well.

Going into depth,

We've been doing a fantastic job at keeping our chapter facility clean and appealing to guests / recruits. Though, there's a lot more we need to do.

Our chapter house at the moment is full, with 10 live-ins and 8 out of house members. The house will be at full capacity again next Spring.

Our main concern at the moment is obtaining new cookware. Most of our pots, pans, and spatulas are scratched, dented, melted, or flaking. We're looking to raise money to buy new stainless steel cookware and will be holding others accountable for cleaning their dishes.

Another interest we’ve had is outdoor furniture for the balcony / outdoor chairs for darties (day parties). Our current seating situation outside needs to be improved as we move further

into Spring. Our front-facing second floor balcony is always an attraction to the rest of the Drake Greek community, because we’re the only house that has a fully covered one.

We are also still looking into basement decor. We’ve been looking into wall decor; such as flags and signs. We also need to replace the LED lights underneath the bar, because the adhesive is wearing off and the lights are sagging. We wish to be quality hosts for guests and alumni, and these items would further help with our recruitment efforts year-round and in the Fall.

In addition, we also need supplies to build a new sitting die / pong table. Our two sitting die tables are caving inward, so it’s time for us to make a new one. Some of the lovely sisters from Alpha Phi have offered to help design and paint the table, but we need assistance funding the supplies.

Your support will help us maintain and improve our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who passes through our doors.

More on Campus Events:

This semester, the brothers have been interested in hosting a formal / crush event, which would require us to rent out a venue. We’d most likely be renting out West End, but we’re trying to bring formal events with sororities back to the chapter.

By contributing to our fraternity, you are investing in the future of our organization and preserving the legacy that we have worked so hard to build. Our chapter has been taking the necessary steps to grow as much as we can, and it truly has been paying off. We are currently the fourth largest fraternity on Drake’s campus, and we are thriving in our academic and community-serving capacities. We’re going to keep that going moving into next year, but we need your help.

Any sort of donation would help us out big time, as it is difficult to fund such a project as a chapter of 13 members. The main goal of these renovations is to help grow our chapter with the appeal of our nice household. We are going to be doing heavy recruiting and have big plans for the rest of this semester and the fall.
