This fundraiser is for the surgery that will allow a newborn Morgan filly born at Weber Training Stables to see.
The foal's dam, Ivory, was rescued from a kill pen and brought into Joy Weber's loving care. We're all heartbroken to discover that Ivory's sweet, otherwise healthy baby girl suffers from congenital cataracts and is almost completely blind.
It is really hard to watch her walking in circles and bumping into objects as she searches for her mom. Thankfully, Ivory is a gentle and attentive mother, always nudging her baby to guide her. Despite her vision loss, the filly is nursing well, growing strong and showing a loving, trusting nature.
There is hope and help at UC Davis vet school, one of the world's best equine medical facilities. Their board-certified ophthalmologist is skilled at performing the surgery that is this precious foal's best chance for sight.
The funds raised will go directly toward the surgery, aftercare and related expenses. Our goal is simple: to give this baby the chance to see her momma, the people who care for and love her, and the world she's just entered.
Please help us give this brave little filly the future she deserves and donate as generously as you can. You can see our girl in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0INNOJTdAI
