Siera's Study Abroad To Costa Rica

My name is Siera Coulter and I am currently a sophomore at the Oklahoma State University, majoring in Physiology and Spanish. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I plan to attend a graduate school, pursuing a career as a Pediatric Oncologist.
During my first year at Oklahoma State, I have learned the value of hard work and a greater sense of appreciation for all of the hard work going into paying my tuition. I am committed to working for my community by volunteering weekly at OU Medical and various events through my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega.
Studying abroad entertains many ideas to different people. To many students, it is a semester or year long vacation from their current university to travel, explore and study at a different university. As for me, it is the opportunity to grow intellectually, broadening my Spanish and Physiological studies in another country while forming an appreciation and better understanding for another culture.
I have recently been presented with the opportunity to study abroad for the spring of 2016 in Costa Rica. In doing this, I plan to expand my Spanish-speaking skills, while continuing my studies. In addition to my studies, I will be able to learn about the Costa Rican culture and traditions, travel around the country and make life long memories with new friends.
I am reaching out for assistance to make this dream a reality. This once in a lifetime opportunity will not only expand my education, but allows me to grow as a person as I take on new responsibilities and challenges that will be presented. The donations will help me cover the costs of tuition and fees, airfare and housing while in Costa Rica.
