update: 01/01/2020 Yesterday I went under the knife for the 5th time in 2019 for an IIH related surgery. They were able to put my shunt and catheter back in this time draining into the pocket by my lung, hoping to avoid any further problems with my stomach. Even with all of the shunts we didn’t catch it in time and too much pressure made my memory began to slip I am now having to go to memory tharapy in hopes that I will not loose what I have left of my memory and try to regain some short term memory. My apologies in advance if I have met you before and Its hard for me to place you or have to ask your name, sometimes I forget where I live so please dont take it personally. I will be off of work for at least two weeks that means I am heading into the New Year with no income. I am going to be relying heavily on the amazing donors I have had and what ever donation I still get, and the money I saved up from Christmas. Thank you to everyone who has shared my story Just getting the word out to different people helps me a lot. Your donations shares and prayers help me keep in good spirts while this is happening. Lets all hope for a surgery free 2020 UPDATE: Monday I went to see a specialist for pain in my stomach, they took one look at me and sent me to the hospital. After running test they found that my Catheter had an infection and the peritoneum was swollen and completely infected. They gave me a Lumbar puncture that showed that the infection had reached my hardware in my head. Wednesday they took the whole Shunt out, head to stomach. I am now recovering on antibiotics until it is safe to put a new shunt in. Thank you so much for the help that you have given me. In the summer of 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare sickness called Pseudo tumor ceribri also known as IIH. I was able to graduate from my amazing college and move home but I just kept getting more sick. I started loosing my memory, feelings in my hands and feet, able to speak correctly, and even my vision. After months of treatment I started to get worse and we realized we needed something more. After all the medication they gave me to help I started feeling really sick and had to have my gallbladder taken out due to the medicine killing it. Soon I was able to find a  neurosurgeon  who would take my case , Unfortunately he was located in California and I had my first surgery in March to put in a Frontal lobe VP shunt. About a month went by and nothing was helping get rid of the pain I was still in I went back to the hospital and my appendix was about to burst which if it did an infection could go up my tube and into my brain and kill me. I had emergency surgery that day. Now 4 months have gone by and I was feeling great but my health turned for the worst and I got very ill again. My third trip to California to see my neurosurgeon and I was sent back in surgery because something just wast right. My tube that is in my stomach was fully incased in scar tissue and wasn't allowing me to drain.  Unfortunately for me during this whole time I haven't been able to work I am fortunate to have my parents to help me pay for medical bill and loans but on a teachers salary my family is barely making it by. Id like to be able to pay the bills so my parents dont have to worry so much. Here is a link to my PayPal if you prefer to donate that way:
