Sienna's Surgery
Donation protected
Sienna Rose Danielson is 8 years old.
The Danielson family and friends were blessed with the arrival of Sienna Rose in December of 2010. They knew prior to her birth that they would have years of unknowns medically, physically & emotionally. Her family has done such an amazing job raising Sienna providing her with all the love and medical support she's needed, and they have a happy and beautiful 8 year old!
Part of Sienna's medical diagnosis is congenital scoliosis. During one of her annual exams, x-rays were taken to evaluate the severity of her curvature. Sadly, the Danielson's received the scary news that Sienna's spinal curvature was at 55 degrees and would need to be re-evaluated within a couple months to determine if spinal fusion was needed immediately, or could possibly wait a few more years.
Unfortunately, at Sienna's September 9th appointment, they learned that her curvature had again increased to now being 62 degrees and that a spinal fusion is an immediate need for Sienna. The hope is that the surgery can occur before the first of the year so that some of the financial medical burden can be absorbed into their 2019 medical deductible, but reality of the situation is a huge financial burden that will be crippling to the family.
Sienna's long surgery will require the majority of her spine to be fused. This is a 5-7 hour surgery, a week in-patient (believing there will be no complications) and a minimum of 3-4 months recovery at home. The Danielson's will have the added expense of housing during hospital stay, food, parking, gas, aftercare, medication, etc. All this while meeting the usual living expenses and loss of work time that comes with these situations.
All funds will go to the family for their medical and cost of living expenses that they will incur during this emotionally and medically draining time. It will ensure that Mike, Julie, Carter & Sienna can focus their attention on the full recovery of Sienna's fusion without the worry of financial burdens that are inevitable.
Thank you for your prayers, love & support!
