Siena’s Fight

Hi, my name is Alex and I am fundraising for Siena and her beautiful family.

Sienas journey

After a couple of months of undefinable pain, suspected breaks and confusing test results, Siena has this week been diagnosed with a form of childhood leukaemia.

The initial shock blindsided her family as they were expecting to treat a minor infection and be home in time for the last week of term two. Unfortunately with this diagnosis Siena will be in the Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne for at some time and then they will be commuting between Geelong and Melbourne every couple of days for at least 12 months.

The diagnosis is B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (B-ALL). The family have been warned that it’s going to be an extremely rocky journey but they are not at all the first or only family in this.

The oncology team at Royal children’s is amazing and the family feel like they are in great hands. Sydney, Andrew and Siena have been overwhelmed by the love and support of friends, family and colleagues too.

It would be amazing if we could all dig deep to raise funds to help the family through this extremely difficult time. Both Syd and Andrew will need to take a significant time off work and the costs associated with long hospital stays certainly add up quickly. Let’s do what we can to help them with whatever they might need to get through this.
