We are all so saddened by the sudden death of Sid. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, and brother.
With great sorrow we share the news that Sidney “Sid” Siemensma passed away the morning of January 19th on a bicycle path in Irvine, CA.
Sid, 51 years old, was a loving father, husband, brother and son.
Sid Siemensma devoted his life to his wife, two children, three step-children and his entire family. He was a stay-at home father who celebrated every day upon the return of his kids from school, greeting them with smiles and hugs. He spent all of his time with his family and lived for his children. Having grown up in Bellflower, CA, he has maintained his family home in Irvine for about 15 years, wanting to raise his children in one of the safest cities in the USA. His family is a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his wife and children, Sid shared great love for the rest of his immediate family. Just a couple of short weeks ago he helped celebrate his parents’ 55-year wedding anniversary along with his four siblings, their spouses and all of his nieces and nephews.
Sid was an avid cyclist who spent many hours a week on his bicycle. Having adventured the bicycle trails in Orange and Los Angeles Counties for years, Sid knew them inside and out.
While we are heartbroken to have lost such a loving man, we also celebrate Sid's life of courage and love for family. He was a strong man who lived a strong life, and we are all better people to have had him part of our lives.
With his sudden passing, the family was not financially prepared. Sid did not have Life Insurance to help with funeral expenses. Cindy, Tommy, and Katie would truly appreciate any help you can give.
The funds donated will be used to pay for his memorial and services.
In lieu of flowers, his family has established a go-fund-me page to assist with funeral expenses, which can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/Siemensma.
Information of the services wil be posted when finalized. You may visit www.oconnormortuary.com for information.
