sids.ventures - USA series- Network Sizzle Project

This will be an interesting demonstration of how to travel on the fly!

The goal was in play for a long time to spend mid-year bringing my little documentaries to the USA. Due to more obstacles and tests than previously thought possible, it's only been with such late notice that a decision has been able to be made regarding the trip. I was determined to make it happen, and now we're going to try with a month to go!

There are a few elements up in the air, but there's a good chance I'll have access to an old Toyota Landcruiser for the trip, as well as someone to give me a hand filming (for the first time).

The (very) rough route goes through The Rockies from Denver, through the Big 5 in Utah, Salt Lake city down through the canyons towards Flagstaff AR and then onto Santa Fe. The trip may start in Dallas, where the vehicle is.

A pivotal part of this is not only the opportunity to get to film in the States but also to meet up with a small production crew and shoot a "sizzle reel" which will be used as a pitch or 'proof of concept' to approach networks/other parties with.

I believe it's worth pursuing this project. The same gut instinct that caused me to take off around Australia, is telling me to get over there now.
