Three small words that hold enormous meaning, "You have cancer."  

Feb 8, 2013 - our family received the heartbreaking news that Lisa was the latest victim of this dreaded disease.  Breast cancer.  Of course, if you know Lisa, you also know "victim" is not a word she surrenders to easily...so the fight began.

After a double mastectomy, the cancer was found to have metastasized to 6 lymph nodes & then throughout her bones. That meant she was Stage IV and considered incurable, but Lisa refuses to give up.  She has 3 beautiful daughters to raise & they keep her spirit soaring ~ even when the cancer seems determined to bring her down.  In Sept 2014, this uninvited guest found it's way into her liver, chemo killed it off, but it found it's way back a mere one year later.  She continues to give it all she's got but this has NOT been easy.


This diagnosis has devastated their family of five - Lisa, Mark, and their 3 beautiful daughters - not only emotionally, but financially, as well.  Lisa is unable to work due to the cancer & treatments requiring much of her time ~ & almost all of her energy.  Mark works hard at his full-time job & has taken on 2 part-time jobs to supplement their income, but they struggle to take care of much beyond the absolute necessities. 

Both sides of the extended family contribute financially as much as possible - and it's also important for us to spend what precious time we have together as a family.  Since Lisa's family lives across the country, we fly them out west most of the time for visits - so we have only recently become aware of the condition of their home which is in DIRE need of repair to make it a safe and dignified place for their family to live.

Lisa and Mark have let their pride get in the way of asking for the help they so desperately need (we all know how hard it is to ask for help!!) - but they are in a situation they can't solve on their own.

The good news is that both sides of the family (Lisa's and Mark's) have united forces to do all we can to return the Siddle family to a healthy home.  

But we need your help!

*UPDATE - Thanks to a very generous donor - Charlie Griffey, President of Griffey Remodeling - both bathrooms are being fully remodeled and the dangerous mold situation will be resolved. We are so thankful!!! If you live in Columbus and need any remodeling done, reach out to him & support this wonderful company. 

REMAINING NEEDS:    (yes, there are still a lot)
- New roof  (it's leaking) - we'd like to fix, but the expense may be too great unless we raise more funds
- Refrigerator & Dishwasher are falling apart
- Stove & Microwave need to be replaced
- Carpet and linoleum are destroyed
- Internal paint
- External paint is peeling on doors, trim, garage
- Car repairs/maintenance (both cars in awful shape)
- Even small things - ie: new towels, sheets & pillows
