This fundraiser has been started for Maria and Dave to help ease the emotional and financial strain of the surgery and cancer treatment for their 4 year old English Bulldog Sid. They are the most loving parents and we hope we can all band together and support them and their fur family during an unimaginable time.
Only six weeks ago, Maria and her partner, Dave, dedicated all of their resources to aggressively treating the cancer of their late beagle, Dottie. We know that veterinary costs can quickly become astronomical, so we're seeking your help.
When Maria adopted Sid from a small town north of Toronto in 2015, it was love at first snorf. At the time, Sid was 8 months old. He was pudgy and drooly. A little anxious, a little jumpy. An emotional over eater. In many ways, he was just like his new mother.
Fast forward to present day: Sid just turned 4 years old. He's an otherwise healthy, emotionally well-rounded, compassionate little dude. He gently gives you his paw when he wants you to pay attention to him (which is always). He’s emotionally intuitive and a true caregiver. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of spending a minute in his company, you’d know how special this big little guy really is.
On paper, Maria is Sid's legal guardian. But in more ways than one, Sid is Maria's guardian too.
A couple days ago, at what should have been a routine vet visit, Sid's veterinarian discovered a few lumps and a weird growth on his paw. A lump was biopsied and the result came back as mast cell carcinoma, which is a malignant form of skin cancer.
Due to its rapid growth, Sid is going into surgery on January 9th. We're really hoping that this measure will keep the cancer at bay or eradicate it completely.
We are grateful for every morsel. Big Daddy Sid has a place in all of our hearts and if love was a currency, vets would be billionaires.
Thank you for sparing and for sharing.
