Hi, my name is Jeremy Carnahan and I am fundraising for my daughter Kaylee Mathews who has been diagnosed with Stage 2b Classic Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin's Lymphoma . After my own nearly seven year battle with Classic Mixed-Cellularity Hodgkin's Lymphoma, never in a million years did we think that we would have to make this announcement for our family, but here goes.
These are the words of our daughter Kaylee:
----
Not thrilled to announce I’ve been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, apparently subconsciously taking ‘like father, like daughter’ and the ever-present nickname ‘Little Jeremy’ way too seriously.
Right now we’re working on locking down an appointment at University of Chicago so we can get started on whatever the hell comes next. I suspect they’ll want to slice me open and take a node out for further testing.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, and anyone who’s been praying for us. I am not, and have never been a person who can easily ask for help. That being said, I’ll be sucking it up and asking for help and I’m so appreciative in advance of anyone willing to lend a hand in any way and everyone who has already offered ❤️
Especially grateful to my mom, who’s already gone out of her way to take me to appointments and help to organize and plan the attack of this diagnosis. My dad, who fought and continues to fight the aftermath of his diagnosis, and for being here to help me through my own. And my sister, for being our family rock, you are the strongest of us all.
----
As you can imagine, this is a huge blow to a very young couple. Kaylee and Mike had just gotten married in October 2019 prior to my transplant last year. They recently purchased a home and were beginning to start their young family when all of this began so abruptly over the last few months.
Kaylee will do her best to work through treatments, but is already incredibly fatigued emotionally, mentally and physically. Being immuno-suppressed during treatments may expose her to additional complications, which we will do our best to avoid. The more money we can raise for her, the easier it will be for her to avoid those complications. While her doctors appointments have only just begun, the medical bills have already been creeping up.

We all appreciate anything you can do to help, whether its a donation, a share, or a prayer. Thank you all so much.
The Carnahan/Mathews family.
