SickFosterKittens I am Janeen a foster mom of several dozen kittens and cats. I have two of my own cats. I am an animal lover by nature. A few months ago I started volunteering with a group of woman on Instagram who help rescue and place urgent cats in homes. There was a case recently with a Momma cat with 7 kittens at a shelter that were on the verge of being put to sleep! 4 of the kittens where her own and 3 where foster kittens from another mother that needed a nursing mom. When our group heard the story we started working on a rescue plan to save this precious family. I volunteered to take them in and save their lives, as we could not find any fosters or adopters within such short notice. I was thrilled to have the company and I just love kittens! Very shortly after they arrived there was another very urgent situation involving 14 cats that were taken away from a horrible sittuation. They were going to be taken to a shelter! We all know what happens at these high kill shelters! So, I decided that I had enough space and resources to take on these poor kitties. When I got them I received an assortment of kitties. A pregnant black female cat. A bunch of adult Gingers, a skittish Tortie, a friendly Tortie, a Calico, and another kitten. A week or so after they arrived a couple of the kittens from the first batch of kittens started showing some signs of having an Upper Respitory Infection. I took a few in to the vet and found out my worst fear just became a nightmare! It was true they had URI'S! The vet started the kittens on medication and recommended the others that were showing signs be seen ASAP! The very next day one of Momma cat's kittens Sherbert, passed away. She just wasn't strong enough to fight it. I started taking each cat in one by one, including my own, only to find out that almost every single cat and kitten had caught the URI! The kittens were getting critical and I became very worried for them. I called friends and they came over to help medicate, feed and keep the babies warm. We went back and forth to the vet at least 4-5 times. I was totally unprepared for this type of financial impact. Just when I thought things were going to get better the black pregnant cat had 3 kittens! Now it was urgent that I get them proper medical care and bottle feed them to prevent them from dying. I stayed up day and night making sure every last cat and kitten was warm and had food (baby food and electrolytes) in their belly's. Sadly, my heart is broken to tell you that 2 more of Momma kitty's (the first batch of kittens) didn't make it. The vet said Momma kitty may have stopped producing milk, or there could have been an underlying cause. Please help me continue to give treatment to all my foster cats and kittens. They are still on the road to recovery and have a ways to go. No amount of money is to small. It all goes a long way! Thank you for listening to my story. We understand if you are not able to donate, your support and well wishes mean a lot to us. ❤️ Most of our vet bills are still in an ongoing tab at our vet. If you would like to see them just dm @booandlou Thank you for your support. Janeen & The Foster Kitties
