Hi, my name is Julia and I'm Shiloh's mom. We rescued her when she was 11 weeks old after she was abandoned in a box next to a dumpster. Shiloh quickly became my best friend and the greatest joy of my life. She is dearly loved by her family and everyone who knows her. She's currently almost 2 years old (her 2nd birthday is in February).
A few days ago she suddenly fell very Ill. It originally presented as kennel cough and then rapidly declined into aspiration pneumonia and low platelets. Shiloh has been at Hamilton regional emergency vet clinic for a few days now and had an exploratory surgery last night (no foreign body was found). Many radiographs, blood work diagnostics, and an ultrasound later we are still not certain on what has caused this young, healthy pup to suddenly get so ill. She is potentially being transferred to OVC (Ontario veterinary college in Guelph) as they have internal medicine specialists and the capability for a blood transfusion if needed.
Shiloh is currently stable but her family is absolutely terrified and in desperate need of a Christmas miracle. Her owners are a young couple who don't have expendable income. We will of course do anything required to save our girl, but we could greatly use any help at all. The bills are adding up like crazy as we approve any recommend diagnostics/ treatments suggested in the hopes of helping our baby girl.
