Sick for 10 months...

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Kyle.

I have been very sick recently. I am seeking 2,250$ to afford an MRI scan of my liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. I will have an invoice from the company Prenuvo soon so I can post the invoice here.

The full-body MRI I am seeking is from a company called Prenuvo; they offer an in-depth full-body scan that can detect up to 1mm of cancerous tumors. The speed of starting treatment if needed for cancer, the faster you start treatment, the better odds you have.

Please share my story and fundraiser with others. I could really use the help right now from you or anyone that is able to give.

I now suffer from constant fatigue and nausea after eating, my stomach digests food four times the normal range, I cannot eat normal amounts of food or meals, I experience pain and the feeling of swollen organs underneath my bottom right rib cage and in my left middle rib cage. These areas typically indicate the liver and gallbladder on the right side and the pancreas on the left side. If I walk more than 3/4ths of a mile, I experience an increase in my pain, and if I continue walking, I become light-headed and will faint if I push it. I cannot life heavy objects, run, descend stair to fast, any type of jumping or I experience intense pain. I am lightheaded now almost all day, every day. It takes me much longer to get to work, walk anywhere, or complete my tasks. If I wasn't on medical hold in the military, I wouldnt be able to support myself or hold a job. I am currently not a functional adult. I am currently in the process of being medically discharged from the military. I gave everything I could, and it just wasn't enough. I can get into this further if you need more information, but this isn't the place to complain.

I have not been able to save enough money to pay for my MRI and PET/CT scans. I became very ill in May of this year, 2022. I was sick for 11 days straight; after four days of absolute weakness, fatigue, and fever/chills, I became sick again. This time I was ill for six days. Since then, I have not recovered. After receiving a CT scan in June with intravenous contrast, I was told by my doctor that there were multiple 5mm lesions found inside my liver on the left and right nodes.

After following a healthy nutritional lifestyle change ordered by my primary care nurse, I continued degrading with no known cause. I have lost 46 LBS in total since I became sick.

In September, I was cleared by a Gastrointestinal Doctor after having a full Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. No issues were detected in my colon and upper gastric system.

I continued to experience severe pain and discomfort beneath my right, the last ribcage, and in the middle of my left ribcage; my primary care nurse finally ordered an Ultrasound. I was prescribed medicine to help control my GERD/acid reflux issues. My ultrasound shows that I have 5mm lesions inside my gallbladder and that they might be gallstones. The only problem is that I did not have high cholesterol until recently; I was not experiencing known bilirubin issues.

My endocrine system, blood tests, cholesterol tests, and blood tests for various bacterial infections all check out as usual and within normal ranges. Since I currently reside in an A-school for the US Navy, the medical support I receive is optimal only to patch us up before we transfer to a permanent duty station, where we can receive more in-depth medical care.

So this same G.I. doctor orders a HIDA scan and a gastric emptying scan. I passed my HIDA scan even though the test itself was very uncomfortable and then afterward, I was so exhausted I fell asleep while on the phone with my Wife in the waiting area. I encountered severe pain during the filling up my gallbladder, which took the entire first 30 minutes, and then again when they injected the hormones into me to empty my gallbladder. I have a 96% emptying rate, so the Technician tells me this is good news in that my gallbladder is not the issue at hand, and she reassured me that they would get to the bottom of what is causing my symptoms.

After one week, I returned to the same medical facility to complete a Gastric emptying scan. They feed you some food with a radioisotope and watch to see if your stomach empties within the correct time. At 1 hour, my stomach was still retaining 100% of my meal, at two hours, I was still retaining 81% and then at four hours, I was retaining 8%. Normal ranges are as follows:
The normal range for the one-hour mark is 10-60%; I was at 0%.
The normal range for the two-hour mark is 30-60%; I was at 19%.
The normal range for the four-hour mark is 90-100%; I was at 8%.

After having both of these last two tests, I can tell you that I understand my body a lot more. The Doctors initially thought my blood sugar fluctuated after meals, but during the HIDA scan, the fluid doesn't affect your blood sugar. After the test, I became fatigued, sore, and hurt and went straight to bed afterward. Even when I drink a large amount of water at one time, I have the same symptoms.

They continue telling me that this is my fault for stress, anxiety, and bad eating habits when I have followed a strict lifestyle of healthy food and do not drink. Before becoming so ill, I exercised six days a week, three days at low-intensity workouts for 60 minutes total, and on alternating days, I would do high-intensity training.

What I can tell you is that I continually fall asleep throughout the day. I have pain anywhere from 4-6 out of 10 every day. After I eat, 30 minutes and one hour later, my pain increases and I immediately have to go to bed. I am no longer a functional adult; I cannot perform normal functions daily. Even doing something like one load of laundry can take my entire day. My G.I. Doctor and the Technicians at the Hospital have informed me that my symptoms are not indicative of a gallbladder issue. My symptoms are suspected to be serious.

Since this is not the place to write my entire illness and life story, I have been documenting my process if you are interested in more information. I will start making a vlog series to help others with the same illness I have, after I can recover. My motto in life is: "Pay it forward."

If you are able to, please help me afford the scans I need to ensure that my illness is treated effectively. I still do not even know why I am so sick. If my rambling is unclear in any way, please let me know. Even writing this took a lot out of me and I am not able to think as clearly and as well as I used to. Thank you for your love, your support, and your time.

With love and optimism,
